Cabot (5-0, 2-0 7A-Central) hangs on to down Soutside thanks to a goal-line stand in the final 80 seconds of the game.
The Mavericks (2-3, 1-1) had a first-and-goal at the Panther 7 and had three shots inside the 1, including an extra down after a Cabot offsides, but could not punch it the winning score.
Cabot hosts Conway next week while Southside travels to North Little Rock.
BENTONVILLE — Bentonville took advantage of some Van Buren miscues and doubled its point total in less than 6 minutes as the Tigers claimed a 56-14 victory in 7A-West Conference play Friday at Tiger Stadium.
Bentonville (4-1, 2-0) led 21-7 midway into the second quarter before Bryce Davis blocked a Van Buren punt, and Tyrell Lyons scooped up the ball in the end zone with 5:41 before halftime. Fayetteville (4-1, 1-1 7A-West) controlled the entire first half, building a 43-0 lead at the intermission to enforce the running clock sportsmanship rule, at Harmon Stadium on Friday.
But Bentonville West sure made things worse for itself, committing four turnovers with four fumbles on four consecutive possession before halftime.

Prairie Grove won its 14th consecutive regular season game as the Tigers dominated Gravette in 4A-1 Conference action.
Prairie Grove (5-0, 2-0 4A-1) led 15-0 at halftime, then took the game over with a pair of Anthony Johnson touchdowns, the last a 38-yard run that gave the Tigers a 28-0 lead. Reed Orr added a 43-yard scoring run to make it 35-0 and invoke the sportsmanship rule.
The Tigers will travel to Shiloh Christian next week in a big conference game. The Lions (3-2, 1-1) will host Pea Ridge.
