‘Catching’ on quick

After catching a pass Saturday night during Bentonville’s Tiger Pride scrimmage, I will have a hard time making people believe I’ve been away from the sideline for five years.
It came while the sophomores were having their turn on the field. Reece Dollins’ pass was intended for Brendan Mahoney but went wide and headed for the sideline. I had pen and notepad in my left hand, but I reached out with my right hand in hopes of keeping the ball from hitting somebody in the head.
Instead, it stayed right in my hand. It impressed some of the Tigers for them to say “nice hand” and “great catch.”
I better enjoy it. I may not get the opportunity to make another one in a while.
