Just a bad day

One couldn’t help but feel bad for Bentonville golfer Josh Leal.

The last four holes Leal played Tuesday afternoon at Lost Springs Golf & Athletic Club were nightmarish for any golfer. Leal went into the water on No. 9 and wound up with a triple bogey on the hole, then hit a double bogey on No. 1, followed by back-to-back bogeys.

Leal finished his nine-hole round with a 9-over 45. As he and Tiger teammate Brik Brauberger climbed on the back of a cart being driven by Bentonville coach Kent Early, some of the first words out of Leal’s mouth were “please don’t put my score in the paper!”

There was just one problem. I was the person in the cart next to Early.
