Almost impossible? No problem!

Bentonville volleyball coach Michelle Coens said after Thursday night’s match against Fort Smith Northside that coming back from a 10-0 deficit — especially with the rally-point scoring system now used — is almost impossible.
Somebody forgot to tell the Lady Tigers that.
Bentonville made the “almost impossible” happen in the second game of its 7A-West Conference opener. The Lady Tigers went to work and eventually tied the Lady Bears at 15 on Mamie Matteri’s block.
Bentonville, which had won the first game, eventually took a 20-19 lead when a Northside player blocked the ball so hard it went past all the Lady Tigers and went out of bounds. The Lady Bears, however, regrouped and scored four of the next five points for a 23-21 lead.
But Bentonville would not be denied on this occasion. Hailey McNee’s kill and a block by Melissa Bakke tied the score at 23, then Hailey Parks served back-to-back aces to give the Lady Tigers the win and momentum the rest of the way.
