Matt L. Stephens covers Springdale Har-Ber for Northwest Arkansas Newspapers. A native of Tulsa, Okla., Matt graduated from Colorado State University in December 2010, where he was a national award-winning columnist and Sports Editor of The Rocky Mountain Collegian, which was ranked as the best college newspaper in the country by the Society of Professional Journalists.
Matt also worked for the Rivals.com Network from April 2007 - May 2011 covering high school and college sports in Oklahoma and Colorado.

BRYANT — Bryant will play Bentonville on May 19 for the state championship at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, but there’s a chance the Lady Hornets be without ace pitcher Peyton Jenkins.

The season couldn’t have started any better for Fayetteville, opening it with a perfect game from junior right-handed pitcher Ashlye Pool, defeating Greenwood, 13-0.
